Breathing Exerciser Overview

Product Description

The Respiratory exerciser is used to carry out independent and controlled respiratory exercises for bedridden patients. Superficial and therefore inadequate respiration results in insufficient ventilation of the deeper-lying areas of the lungs. Secretions (in particular mucous) can accumulate in the lower regions of the lungs, making the lung tissue susceptible to infection.

This product is suitable for patients who have a decline in lung function due to chest lung disease, surgery, anesthesia, and mechanical ventilation, to assist in the recovery training of the lung respiratory function.

How to use?

1. Hold the unit in an upright position.
2. EXHALE normally and then place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece at the end of the green tubing.
3. LOW FLOW RATE: Inhale at a rate to raise only the ball in the first chamber. The second chamber ball must remain in place. This position should be held for three seconds or as long as possible.
4. HIGH FLOW RATE: Inhale at a rate to raise the first and second chamber balls. Ensure that the third chamber ball remains in the rest position for the duration of this exercise.
5. EXHALE: Take out the mouthpiece and exhale normally. RELAX. Following each prolonged deep breath, take a moment to rest and breathe normally.

How to calculate?

Calculate your inspiratory volume: multiply your inspiratory time (in seconds) by the inspiratory flow setting (in cc/second).

Example:
If you inspire a slow, deep breath at a flow setting of 200cc/second for 5 seconds:
5 sec x 200cc/sec = 1000cc (or 1 liter)

!

Avoid Fatigue and Hyperventilation

Allow time between inspiratory maneuvers. One SMI repeated with a break of at least one minute between efforts will reduce fatigue and the risk of hyperventilation.

Follow your clinician's instruction carefully. As your condition improves, you may rotate the flow selector to a larger number to achieve greater volumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from using a breathing exerciser?
It is designed for patients with respiratory conditions, post-operative recovery, or those experiencing reduced lung function due to anesthesia or mechanical ventilation.
How do the three balls indicate lung function?
The three chambers represent flow rates of 600cc, 900cc, and 1200cc per second. Raising the balls through inhalation helps visualize and improve inspiratory volume.
Is this device suitable for children?
Yes, the medical breath exerciser is suitable for both adults and children under medical supervision or clinician instructions.
What materials are used in the device?
The body is made of PS (Polystyrene), the balls and mouthpiece are PP (Polypropylene), and the tubing is PE (Polyethylene).
How do I prevent hyperventilation while practicing?
It is recommended to take a break of at least one minute between deep breath efforts to reduce fatigue and prevent hyperventilation.
Can I customize the logo and color?
Yes, we support both with or without logo printing and offer custom color options for bulk orders (MOQ 1000pcs).
